Instructions
1. Preheat Oven
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture
- In a large bowl, combine:
- Ground beef and pork
- Breadcrumbs
- Milk
- Onion & garlic
- Egg
- Salt & pepper
- Worcestershire sauce
- Paprika or chili powder (if using)
- Mix gently until ingredients are just combined. Don’t overmix—it keeps the meatloaf tender.
3. Shape and Top
- Place mixture in the loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
- Spread ketchup on top (or a mix of ketchup and a little brown sugar for sweetness).
4. Bake
- Bake 55–65 minutes, or until meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- Optional: broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for a caramelized topping.
5. Rest and Serve
- Let meatloaf rest 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a simple side salad.
Tips
- Use a mix of beef and pork for juicier meatloaf.
- Add a handful of shredded cheese or chopped peppers to the mixture for extra flavor.
- Leftovers make great sandwiches the next day.
